My dogs are mixed breed and a hodgepodge of pet material Mr. Maricucu and I patched together before we had children. I won't get into that today. For the most part we have pretty good dogs. The other day our second dog was sniffing around my garden which is fenced in with chicken wire. She was going nuts and Mr. Maricucu, being the brave one in this household went to investigate. That and because he knew that if the dog tore up the garden, OCD me would have been whining about it for at least a week, possibly more.
He found this little nest. One note, Mr. Maricucu hates snakes with a passion. But because he loves me so much he went to retrieve a pole to investigate the burrowed out nest. He knows the kids and I are in the garden frequently and didn't want me to be surprised. So while gently poking and keeping the curious dogs at away he found this.
Three bunnies no more than a few days old burrowing and sort of sleep hopping around to make up for the lost lid on their nest. Adorable! Good thing we kept the dogs at bay, you know instinct and all. Apparently momma rabbit figured the safest place to build a nest in our fenced in backyard is within the vegetable garden. So aside from snapping pictures and explaining to the children about not being able to pet the rabbits lest we leave our scent all over them, we walked away and hoped for momma rabbit's return that night. Thankfully it seems the bunnies have gone off with their mother.
As for me, I seem to have some kind of nasty throat infection which is helping me reacquaint myself with the wonders of salt gargles, jello and appreciate what it will feel like again to eat a meal without having to chew it to death.

Cute story. HOpe you feel better soon!
Hmmm, that's interesting Carrie. I'll admit even as a grownup feeling a pull and thinking, "bunnies!"
Thanks for the healthful wishes Denise. I'm feeling just a tiny bit better this morning.
Aww...sorry you are under the weather. I hope you are feeling better for your anniversary.
